An adventerous misadventure!!!

Hey !
Like the title mentions.. its really was an unforgettable misadventure.. this is about a time when i was young... not that i am old and gone now but when i was kind of in between stages.
It was my cousin's wedding and we were traveling by train.. did i tell you my native place is about 30 hours away from Mumbai, so it usually takes about 11/2 day to reach there. So lets begin with the day of the departure, it was bright, blue & cool for a summer day. So there we were on Dadar station counting our luggage, making sure we had everything we needed for the journey. The train arrived on time and we got on board and off we went.
The journey was quite alright during the day but we had weird people for company on the other berths. We had a newly married couple who couldn't keep their hands to themselves, an old pair who constantly fought and a bunch of kids who dint know how to behave and shut up. Now if such a crowd doesn't make for an adventure, then what does? Right!!

Think again..
this part was quite ordinary and everyday sort. The real fun began when the evening passed by with the night slowly creeping on us. This is where our real adventure began.
Everyone shut the windows as they would be sleeping and chances of thieves stealing was great since mails usually wait in the train stations' Outer area. This area is always deserted with little or no lights. Hey, i hope you aren't bored yet but i had to give a back ground for you to understand the whole incident and its effects. And now to the best part..
After eating our dinner, we chatted for quite sometime but our travel mate in the next berth who happened to be the groom from the newly wed couple. He wanted the lights off so we obliged and started making up the berths and getting ready to sleep. So my mom and sister slept in the lower berth while my aunt and I slept in the middle berth and my father took up the topmost berth. We were talking and playing among ourselves but fell asleep after sometime.

I hope you remember it was summer so it was hot like there is no tomorrow. And since i can't bear the heat i woke up got off my berth and went an sat beside the window.
Since it was so hot i decided to open the window a bit to let in fresh air.. it must have been just 15 min since i was sitting there when the train stopped at the outer of Guntakal station in the south.
And i happened to see a man climb on the closed door.. he was trying to push his way inside.. and naive that i was, i shouted at him to get off.
That man, was surprised at first, and he turned to see who was calling out, and then he was glad he had finally got what he was looking for ... an open window!
It was like saying Open Sesame!!! Before i could blink after my shout, he had his hand through the window on my neck... and that was like a freeze frame.. where everything happened without conscious thought.
Seeing that hand trying to snatch my chain away... i moved behind, but it was done unconsciously and while doing that i found my hand holding the collar of my shirt closed.

An then i heard it... a scream that was so chilling that my father jumped directly from the topmost berth on to the floor. and everyone in the bogey all 72 seats were awake and screaming. Most of them didn't even know why..
And here comes the best part... guys-n-gals the moment of the rippling effect of that one action of keeping the window open........
People realized that the scream they heard was becoz I had kept the window open, an opportunity for that thief who thot he had become lucky after no luck the whole night. But to his bad luck he got a shock of his life when I screamed and held on to the collar of my shirt at the same time. He still searched for something to pull out before the train left but by now everyone was awake and mad enough to beat him up if he got caught.
That man jumped of the train and ran to save his life and here in the train everyone was scolding me for giving them a scare of their life. And my dad... oh my god he suddenly realized he had just jumped on hearing the scream and you must be thinking what abt me??

Oh yes as for me... any sleep i had was lost for the whole night and i kept replaying the incident in my mind. As for my fellow travelers... would u like to know.. what they were doing?
The newly wed couple, that bride was so scared she jumped into her hubby's lap irrespective of the fact that there were kids around, and the old couple they were plain scared and dint sleep a wink that night.

And as for me........ i tried sleeping but every time I did I kept seeing that hand.. reaching out to me........
Man i thank my lucky stars for wearing that tee and a shirt on it, also the fact that my conscious was so strong that i screamed and I didn't even realize it
Hey it was such a memorable incident that I kept telling others about it whenever we happened to describe our journey for the next fortnight.
